Keeping Babies Safe + Included

Author Ann-Marie Espinoza Posted on May 23, 2017June 9, 2017 5,058 Views 2 Likes

As the parent of two little ones (ages 2.5 years and 7 months respectively), I’m forever learning and relearning how to juggle both of their needs. The first time I took them out in public by myself felt like a major life accomplishment. Then when I figured out how to interact with the toddler at her gym class while simultaneously wearing the baby in a carrier on my chest, I thought I was Super Mom. Now that summer is fast approaching and BBQs and birthday parties are taking over our social calendar, I’m learning how to navigate this new territory with two kiddos.

DIY Moon + Stars Banners

Pause for a moment and ask yourself: when was the last time you stared up at the night sky? If you’re anything like me, you’re probably too focused on shuffling kids into the house to wash up for dinner or trying to get little ones to fall sleep at bedtime that you rarely give much […]

Mother’s Day Card Printable

Author Ann-Marie Espinoza Posted on May 9, 2017May 11, 2017 4,897 Views 2 Likes

In honor of Mother’s Day this coming weekend (May 14th), we laid our tatami mats and messy mats on the ground and set up a cardmaking station for these little ones to write a note to their sweet mamas. They made beautiful drawings and penned heartfelt sentiments for their favorite people and then shared their creations with us. Adorable!

Balloon Tents + Free Coloring Page Printables

Ask (almost) any child about balloons and prepare to watch their eyes light up. There’s just something so magical about balloons and the way they float through the air, seemingly with a mind of their own. It’s no wonder that they have been a classic symbol of childhood for decades.

Friendly Critter Snacks

Before I had kids, I assumed that pickiness toward food was simply a result of not introducing a child to lots of different meals, textures, and flavors. Ha! The joke was clearly on me. I have offered my toddler just about every food under the sun and she ate it all…that is, until she turned two. Now […]

Creative Play in Nature

Author Ann-Marie Espinoza Posted on April 26, 2017May 11, 2017 2,563 Views 4 Likes

There’s an inspiring quote by Theodore Roosevelt that goes: “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” These words are never truer than when children are given the freedom to play in nature (and as the champion of America’s National Parks, Mr. Roosevelt certainly knew what he was talking about!). If you ever […]

If your little ones have been cooped up indoors for the last few months, it’s time to break free from from the bonds of winter weather and get some fresh air! A little sunshine paired with a little exercise can go a long way in improving the whole family’s mood.

DIY Sidewalk Watercolors + Safety Dome

Author Ann-Marie Espinoza Posted on April 13, 2017April 20, 2017 6,565 Views 1 Like

Alright, confession time: when we set out to make this DIY, we were aiming to make good old fashioned sidewalk chalk. But not all DIYs go according to plan, and in this case we enjoyed a happy little accident. Instead of hardened chalk, we made an awesome watercolor recipe that is a cinch to put […]

About our writer

Playfully is written by Jaclyn Uloth, a native Southern Californian, writer and digital marketer. As a textbook "right-brainer", Jaclyn loves anything creative and thinks the best part about being a child is the wild imagination that comes with it. She thinks using your hands to create things are some of the best memories of childhood, especially when done with the ones you love most. The messes might be big, but memories are just that much greater.
