With Easter just a few days away, now is the perfect time to plan out an egg hunt that your children are sure to remember! Today we have a few fun hiding spot ideas as well as a quick and eco-friendly solution for creating Easter baskets to house all those hidden treats!

There’s no need to run to the store to pick up Easter baskets when you can make your own out of supplies found in your recycling bin and craft supply! Here’s what you’ll need to make your own upcycled basket:

SUPPLIES:

  • Plastic 2-liter jug
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Cardstock/Construction Paper (multiple colors)
  • Markers (we used paint pens)
  • Hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Begin by cutting off the top half of a 2-liter plastic jug.
  2. Next, cut out strips of different colored cardstock and adhere them around the top and center of the jug.
  3. Sketch egg silhouettes onto cardstock and cut them out with scissors.
  4. Decorate each of the eggs with paint pens and adhere them over the “feet” of the jug.
  5. From there, punch two holes opposite each other on the top of the jug opening.
  6. Thread a pipe cleaner though both holes and secure in place.
  7. To create the “grass” filler for the basket, simply trim long strips of cardstock and fold them accordion-style several times until they have the texture you desire.

Now it’s time to fill those baskets with treats…

Let the games begin!

Our Giant Teepee is just that — giant! — so it’s a fantastic place to hide at least a baker’s dozen worth of treat-filled eggs!

But wait…there’s more!

Set up a few play chairs and use them for toddler-level hiding spots as well as a comfy place for kids to rest and scope out their Easter egg hunt spoils after the race has wrapped up!

Keep going! There’s still a few left!

Whether you hide the eggs in the four tunnels or in the center junction, there are plenty of secret spots in the Glow-In-The-Dark Galaxy Combo Junction to take the hunt to the next level!

No matter how you set up your game, we know your children will have an “egg-cellent” time! We wish you a very “hoppy” Easter!
