With the new school year ramping up, we’ve created a unique way to store freshly-sharpened pencils in style! Inspired by our School Bus 6FT D-Tunnel, this juice carton-turned-pencil caddy is simple to make AND it keeps one more container out of the landfill. (That alone deserves an A+ in our grade book!).

There’s plenty of room for everyone to hop aboard our School Bus 6FT D-Tunnel and hang out. In fact, it’s the perfect spot for catching up on a great book, telling tales from recess, or even finishing up homework.

Featuring mesh windows and two doors that go open and shut with hook and loop fasteners, this tunnel receives plenty of fresh air.

Whether your child is starting play school or Pre-K, this tunnel is excellent for building gross motor skills and burning up that extra energy after a fun day in class.

Best of all, this tunnel can be used indoors or outdoors, so no matter the weather, the school bus is always on time for play!

To start the year off on an organized note, we suggest creating a school bus pencil holder to decorate your little one’s desk or act as a wonderful gift for a special teacher!

SUPPLIES

  • Juice or milk carton
  • Yellow and black acrylic paints
  • Paintbrushes
  • Screwdriver

Begin by painting the entire carton in school bus yellow. Let dry.

Using black paint, add doors, windows, and wheels using a thin paintbrush. Let dry.

Punch out several holes in the top of the box using a screwdriver.

Finally, add pencils or markers to the top of the box and enjoy! For an extra element of fun, adhere photos of your child’s classmates’ faces in each window on the bus!

Cheers to the new school year!
