Getting ready for Halloween can be a little stressful, especially if you haven’t had too much time to prep. Don’t worry – you still have enough time to make it happen! If your kids need to bring candy to the classroom, it can get expensive. Not to mention, most stores are likely out of the good stuff by now! If you’re looking to save a little money while also turning around a quick and cute result, these DIY Lollipop Spiders are perfect for you! On top of that, we’ve got even more last-minute Halloween ideas to make it look like you’ve spent weeks prepping – even though you’ve only had a day!

Barnyard Playhouse

Everyone knows the story of Charlotte’s Web, making our Barnyard Playhouse the perfect spot to create, eat and enjoy our DIY Lollipop Spiders! Our Barnyard Playhouse is large enough to easily accommodate three or more of your child’s favorite farmyard friends as they tend to the barn. Featuring high-quality 190T Denier polyester taffeta and a realistic barn shape, this product is sure to hold up to countless hours of play!

This playhouse is constructed of fiberglass “super poles” that not only ensure safety and security but are also color-coded for quick and simple set-up. Since safety is of the utmost importance at the barn, this playhouse comes with radius cut hook and loop fasteners to prevent cuts and scrapes. Your little rancher will enjoy adventures galore in the barn as the No-See-Um mesh keeps the farm animals in and the pesky bugs out. No need to “hold your horses,” the perfect barn is here!

DIY Lollipop Spiders

These DIY Lollipop Spiders are not only adorable, but they are super quick and easy to make just in time for Halloween for gifts, the classroom or just for decoration. Inspired by One Little Project, you and your little one will have tons of fun creating them!

What You Need

  • Lollipops
  • Black pipe cleaners
  • Google eyes
  • Glue Gun
  • Scissors

How You Make Them

  1. Fold two 12 in. black pipe cleaners in half and cut at the fold to make 4 pipe cleaners
  2. Align them evenly and place the lollipop roughly 1/3 of the way in. We used Tootsie Roll Pops, but use whatever ones you and your kids love most!
  3. Wrap the “longer” side of the pipe cleaners around the lollipop stick until the two sides are pointed the opposite way
  4. Bend little “L”s at the ends of the pipe cleaner sticking out
    1. NOTE: We used the halfway point of the index finger, but you’re free to bend them whatever length you’d like!
  5. Use a glue gun to glue the googly eyes on the top part of the spider
    Enjoy!

More Last-Minute Halloween Ideas

Not everyone gets into the holiday spirit right away, and sometimes, it can come right down to the wire before you are able to find the time (or energy!) to participate. If you are looking for more last-minute Halloween ideas, including costumes and home decor, we’ve got you covered!

Throwback Thursday Costume

If you have an old shirt and gauze handy, you’ve got a Halloween costume on your hands! Just write the word THURSDAY on your shirt, whether with Sharpie or adhesive letters. Then, wrap gauze around your waist and you are an official Throwback Thursday! Bonus points if you’re able to hold up an Instagram post frame around you, although, this would require some serious time and/or a trip to a printer to pull off.

Crayon Drip Pumpkin

Looking for more ways to spruce up the front porch, while also clearing out the crayon box of old crayons? Try these crayon drip pumpkins! Grab a handful of old crayons, remove the wrapper and glue or tape the end of it to the top of the pumpkin so that it points out. Once you’ve made a ring around your pumpkin stem with crayons, grab a blowdryer and start melting. The crayons will drip all down the pumpkin, making a super cool effect!

Mummy Hand Candy Bags

Another super easy and cute DIY for passing out candy is mummy hand candy bags! Just grab some white latex gloves, fill it up with candy and tie off with a black ribbon. Bonus points if you add spiders or fake blood splatters!

Quick and Easy Mummy Front Door

Don’t have much time to decorate the porch before the trick-or-treaters arrive? All you need is some toilet paper and construction paper! Just wrap your front door in toilet paper and cut out circles with white and black construction paper for eyes. Tape the eyes on the front of your door and there you have it — Halloween spirit in under 10 minutes!

Scary Googly Eyes in 5 Minutes

All you need are paper towel rolls and glow sticks for this one! Simply cut out eye shapes on your paper towel rolls and put a glow stick inside. Turn off the lights and you’ve got some creepy eyes looking back at you! To further hide them, you can paint the paper towel rolls black.
