Circle, square, triangle…all our shapes are wonderful! Today we are taking inspiration from our multi-sensory Tickle Me 9 Ft Geo Tunnel and creating DIY polymer clay shapes for educational play!
At nine feet long, our Tickle Me Geo Tunnel is the perfect size for children of all ages to enjoy.
There are several mesh windows along the length of the tunnel that are shaped as triangles, circles, and squares. Not only are these windows appealing from a visual standpoint but they also help to reinforce shape recognition and build early geometry skills.
Additionally, the tunnel is eye-catching and sure to stand out in a play room or park thanks to its primary color palette.
The one thing that sets this tunnel apart from all of our others is the colorful strands of tassels that attach to various points throughout the tunnel. Between the colors, the shapes, and the hanging tassels, the Tickle Me Geo Tunnel is sure to delight all of the senses!
The Tickle Me Geo Tunnel is so much fun that even pets want to get in on the action!
To further build on shape exploration, we have created DIY polymer clay shapes that can be made in less than twenty minutes! Here’s what you’ll need:
SUPPLIES:
- Polymer clay in various colors
- Knife or other cutting tool
- Rolling pin
- Oven
Begin by rolling out the polymer clay with a rolling pin or a long glass jar.
Once the clay is evenly distributed, begin slicing out various shapes.
After all the shapes are cut out, bake the clay in an oven at the temperature listed on the packaging.
Finally, remove the hardened clay from the oven and build math and spatial skills through tactile play!
What’s your favorite shape?
