With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, it’s primetime for chocolates, hearts, and flowers! But we also feel that it’s the perfect holiday for flexing DIY muscles and thinking outside the norm. So today we are taking a cue from our Ladybug Tent and Tunnel Combo Set and creating tent-inspired cards for all your child’s loved ones!

Featuring polka dots and a friendly face, our Ladybug Tent and Tunnel Combo is sure to delight “lucky” little ones.

The playful tent design includes built-in mesh walls for plenty of natural light and ventilation.

This tent and tunnel combo is perfect for children of all ages to work on their gross motor skill development in a colorful and engaging environment! Plus, it’s roomy enough for several kids to enjoy it at the same time, thus encouraging cooperative play!

To create your own ladybug tent-inspired Valentine’s Day cards, here is what you will need:

SUPPLIES:

  • Pink and Red Construction Paper
  • Scissors
  • Black Marker
  • Paper Piercer
  • Twine or Cording
  • Glue

Begin by stacking the red and pink paper together vertically. Fold the the top two corners inward until they meet in the center. Crease the folds until secure.

Trim off the bottom of the folds until you are left with a triangle, tent-shaped card.

Fold the two flaps outwards and poke a hole in each flap all the way to the outside of the card. Secure the flaps open with two pieces of twine or cording.

Add polka dots with a black marker.

Finally, write a message for a loved one inside the “tent!”

Luck be a ladybug!
